| On arrival on Vlieland your bicycles stand at the ready, which will act as your means of transportation for that day. At the reception we distribute bicycle routes, with which you will cycle through the bushes and the dunes to the Posthuys. During the bicycle excursion you can climb the lighthouse from where you have a superb view of the island and the neighboring islands of Texel and Terschelling. And with the view enjoy a typical Vlielander herbal liquor!! A toast to the long climb down!!! At the Posthuys, the Vliehors Expres (with a large 4WD truck) takes you out on the largest sand plain of the Netherlands and sometimes we can see seals of very up close. Lunch is served at the nostalgic rescue cabin. • Culturally under accompaniment: Take a guided tour of the Kroonpolders. After which you can choose to go back to the village via the dunes or follow the Postweg. There you pay a visit to the Zeemanskerk with a tour by the resident nun. The possibility also exists to visit the Noordwester Information Centre and view the exhibited sperm whale (washed ashore in 2004 on Vlielander range) to visit. The supplied bicycle route also acts as your access card! On departure you all receive the gift of a stone jug of Vlielander herbal liquor with a personal label. |
